Korean Instant noodles

Have you ever watched Korean Drama and craving aroused by scenes of the artistes  eating instant Korean noodles? Yes, Korean instant noodles is of unique texture,  slightly fatter than Japanese version, giving it a unique Springy texture. No wonder noodles lovers  love it (but with the popularity, there are many non Korean version posing as Korean Instant noodles that don't have the look and texture taste) and Pure Vegetarians Beware!
You should always check the label,  even just on the noodles itself,  some would already have mixed onion powder or even beef extract in it.
Yes! An innocent flour noodles that you would not have expected to find animal products in it...just like bottled Fruit Juices nowadays, especially those which said "Added Vitamins and Omega", etc, Beware, you may likely find fish extracts added to it.
Yes, instant noodles are unhealthy so if you still want to risk taking it, try the tastier version.
And I just found one of the QQ taste and yet Pro-vegetarian!  :-)

I found this brand at Shine Korea,  and costing only S$3.10 now versus several brands they sell that some can cost $8 above!  :-p.
The label on ingredients of the Noodles did not have Onion or animal extracts indicated and does not taste like it has. As for powder soup, they usually would have onion but I would discard it anyway and add my own seasoning. For a healthier version,  one is always encouraged to discard the soup base powder and add in own preference of soy sauce and chilli oil. :-) Yummy!:; -))

Vegetarian Soup

Fantastic Vegetarian Soup dishes cooked by beloved mum with mushrooms from friend.

As simple as Baked beans

Have a craving on Baked beans and when visited the super-mart, saw there are more than one version of it and different brands.
Only this Ayam and Heinz brand declared "Vegetarian" on their label.
Looked carefully and only this brand declared it contains No Garlic, No onion with Vegetarian spices.
Its non Vegetarian version openly declares it contain garlic and onion powder.
Other brands didn't specify What is in the content of their spices.
Naturally this great open declaration won my purchase...
Be careful with products which one innocently Thought are Vegetarian.
Just like instant frozen French fries.at super -mart,  Look carefully at the label before purchase...

Season Herbal Tea

As my favourite brand of Herbal Tea was not available, I was introduced to this alternative Season Herbal Tea recently. It came in box of 2 sachets and even with sour plum packed with it. Well, it did not taste as bitter and I need not have to take the plum with it but the kind thoughts of the plums is appreciated.
According to indications on the label, it can be used for symptomatic relief of cold, sore throat, fatigue and stomachache. So, if you find yourself starting to develop symptoms of cold or fever, can try taking it.
Easy to take too with boiling water and simmer for 5 minutes in a cup, and considering it is quite effective too, I believe this will add to my list of favourite travel essentials. :-)

Brown Rice Handmade Noodles

Recently this brand of Brown Rice Handmade Noodles (ONE~Organic Natural Essential) had invaded local vegetarian super-marts. Easy to cook like instant noodles, just throw it into a pot of hot water and add your own seasoning and ingredients, it makes a more healthier choice. (Quantity equals about 2 packs of instant noodles and price)
They offer 3 choices: Mee Tarik (labelled Lamian but after expansion like fattened Yimian); Mee Suah & Mee Soya (Banmian) which represent different thickness. I prefer their Mee Suah which when expanded after cooking becomes like the smooth Handmade noodles (Lamian) that is of right smooth texture and thickness that I like.

Product of Malaysia with ingredients : Brown Rice Powder, Unbreached Four, Sea Salt, Distilled Water.

Instant Breakfast Pack

What I like about the Instant breakfast packs in Taiwan is they have more variety and  are Healthier. For example, this popular brand in Singapore, did not carry this Purple Rice with Purple Yam cereal pack which is believed to be more nutritious.
Hope they could bring in more healthy choices to Singapore soon...

(A Taiwanese friend commented she don't understand why the Singaporeans like the liquid M pack which even their local children no longer take, a S'porean friend gave quite an interesting reply: because we are so lazy even to bite so the liquid form is preferred :P)
